PROGRAM

How do we help leaders move beyond learning new skills to fundamentally expanding how they think, interpret challenges, and lead others?

In coaching, we often help clients identify goals, develop capabilities, and commit to new behaviors. But what happens when a leader understands what they should do yet continues to approach challenges in the same ways? Sometimes, the opportunity for growth lies not in acquiring another skill but in examining the underlying assumptions, beliefs, and perspectives shaping their choices.

Join Kristin Chase with Chase Talent Development for an interactive exploration of vertical development and deeper mindsets in coaching. We will distinguish horizontal development (expanding what we know and can do) from vertical development (expanding how we make meaning and navigate complexity), explore practical questions that invite deeper reflection, and discuss how mindset influences leadership effectiveness, team dynamics, and organizational culture.

By the end of the session, participants will be able to:

1. Distinguish horizontal and vertical development.

2. Recognize opportunities for deeper mindset exploration in coaching.

3. Apply questions that invite deeper reflection.

4. Connect individual development to organizational context and culture.

5. Reflect on their own coaching mindset.
