Organization Culture, Climate, and Engagement: Differences that Matter

In his seminal book, Organizational Culture and Leadership, Edgar Schein writes, “The only thing of real importance that leaders do is to create and manage culture.” Unfortunately, much of what masquerades today as organization culture and change initiatives are not what they are purported to be. In this month’s Leadership Development CoP meeting, we’ll examine the differences between organizational culture and measures of climate and engagement—distinctions important for leaders and OD professionals to know. Meeting attendees will have an opportunity to take a free pencil and paper version of Gallup’s Q12 engagement survey, the most widely used measure of employee engagement around the world.

Location:   StarterStudio, 101 South Garland Avenue, Suite 108, Orlando, FL

Location is The Exchange Building, a 3-story yellow building with black awnings, on the corner of Garland Avenue & Pine Street. There is an open parking lot on the same corner. Parking is $2.00/hour.  Guests have to prepay at the kiosk and place the receipt on the front dash of their car before leaving the parking lot.
