Come and meet Pulitzer Prize winning author, Gilbert King -- www.gilbertking.com. His Pulitzer was won for “Devil in the Grove” based on a true historical incident in Groveland, Florida. AND the American Library Association just named Gilbert King a winner of the prestigious Carnegie And Notable Book Award for his novel, “Beneath a Ruthless Sun: A True Story of Violence, Rape, and Justice Lost and Found.”
Friends of ALL can purchase tickets at the special early bird rate of $89.00 (regularly priced at $99.00). This special discount ends on March 17th.
GOOD Network members might choose to meet up during the event to socialize and support this worthy cause.
HOWEVER, we are NOT collecting payments for tickets. Please pay separately for your event tickets at the ALL website.
And, remember, your ticket price is totally tax deductible.
Why do we support Adult Literacy League? Literacy is an essential foundational skill in 21st century Central Florida. However, in our region, 44% of adults do not have the literacy skills they need for home, work and life. In fact, 1 in 5 (20%) struggle with very serious literacy challenges and have trouble reading even the most basic text. An additional 20% can read but not well enough to meet the demands of today’s society.
Come help us support this worthy organization and enjoy GOOD times together!
