December 7, 2018 Bi-monthly Meeting and Special Luncheon

Registration

  • Please register if you are a member who plans to attend the program AND also stay afterwards for the the special lunch (so we can add you to the lunch count).
  • If you are a member attending the bi-monthly program, but you CANNOT stay for the luncheon; please use this category. We will not add you to the lunch count.
  • 1st time guests attend their first meeting for free to "try us on for size." If you are a former member or a guest who has attended before, please register as a returning guest.
  • Returning guests and former members who have visited us before will pay $35.00 for the meeting.

Embracing Conflict: Understand it, Resolve it, Turn it into Opportunities

Disagreements and differing opinions are not “if” they are “when”.  How you react and respond to conflict determines whether it will be turned into something productive or something detrimental.  Karen Pelot draws from more than 10 years as a Florida Supreme Court certified circuit civil mediator to help you quickly identify the root of conflict, and provides tools to enable you to move swiftly to resolution. 

This interactive session offers: 

  • Learn 3 truths about conflict that will change the way you view it, help you resolve it quickly, and find the opportunities hidden within it
  • Identify your go-to conflict style, and learn when it is or is not the most effective situational choice
  • Gain tips on effectively working with conflict styles that are different than yours

Celebration Lunch

(Members please register as attending Both the program and the lunch if you can stay so we have an accurate headcount!)

We will have a luncheon immediately following the bi-monthly meeting.  We will combine a celebration of our 15th year at the GOOD Network with some holiday cheer and thank you gifts for members who attend!   


Speaker Bio

Karen Pelot is the owner of PERSPECTIVES, LLC where she serves clients as a mediator, coach/consultant, speaker, and trainer.

Karen has been a Florida Supreme Court certified mediator since 2008, the same year she opened PERSPECTIVES, LLC. Prior to that, she enjoyed a very successful 18-year career in corporate leadership with three Fortune 100 companies. Karen served as a member of the Senior Leadership Team for Progressive and The Hartford, as regional/director of Special Investigations.

Karen, and her team, have learned, developed, and experienced programs to reduce and resolve conflict, maximize team engagement, and instill accountability for workplace behaviors and results.

Karen has been a featured expert on FOX News GOOD DAY ORLANDO, and her articles have been published by Mediator.com, the Association for Conflict Resolutions, and the Florida Professional Mediators Association. She is the author of Going Public! Minimize Fear, Maximize Results, Master Public Speaking, and she has been featured as an expert on the internationally syndicated television show Real Life 101.
