GOOD Doing Good for GOODWILL!

Please join us as we serve our valued partner, Goodwill Industries.  We are grateful for the services they have provided us over the years, and now we have an opportunity to give back.

Giving a few hours of your time during a GOOD doing Good group event is a true win-win.  The service organization wins by allowing us to fulfill their greatest needs.  We win by knowing we make a significant difference in the lives of those in our community.  Additionally, more personal benefits include the opportunity to network and forge new friendships, gain a deeper appreciation for the organizations that serve our community, and experience the joy of being a servant.  Strengthen family bonds and friendships by inviting one or more guests to join you!

So, how can YOU help?  Spend three hours of your time working with their BookWorks program and possibly support their retail store.  Folks at the volunteer facility will identify exactly how we can help based on their needs the day we volunteer.

BookWorks is a brand new program at Goodwill in Central FL, and they are very excited about it.  Research shows that children living in low income families typically have 2 or less age-appropriate books at home.  The BookWorks program enables readers to hand out books to students in low income schools after they have been read to in a class.  Children’s books are sorted into several different categories; and then books deemed acceptable for 3-6 year olds are cleaned and a book plate is placed in the front; grouping books together, getting them ready for our volunteer readers.

We will take a tour of the facility and learn what more about what Goodwill does for our community.  Enjoy a short break with drinks and snacks.  There are several nearby casual restaurants if volunteers want to continue the fun by lunching together after the event.  So, won’t you come spend a few hours making a difference for the children of our community?

Registration is open now and you may also register any guests you want to bring on the same registration!

Please wear long pants and closed-toe shoes; volunteers will be asked to sign a liability form upon arrival.
