Conference volunteers




What Does Each Committee Do? 


SWAG/Vendor/Sponsor Committee: 

Source and market vendors/sponsors that align with GOOD’s vision, mission, values; support vendors/sponsors before, during, and after the conference; source swag and prepare conference bags.


Registration Committee:

Manage the full registration process, including tracking online registrations, registration table setup, checking people in, and sharing post-conference speaker materials with attendees.


Speaker Coordination:

Lead speaker selection and support/communicate with speakers throughout the entire process (review and share feedback on draft presentations, identify speaker A/V and other needs, and provide in-room support).


Volunteer Coordination:

Define volunteers needed, duties, stations, and time commitments; recruit GOOD member and student volunteers and prepare them for the conference; coordinate volunteers during the conference.


Conference Logistics Committee:

Plan and manage the space/flow of the conference (location, movement of people), equipment needs, catering, and conference program; liaise with Venue Event Manager.


Communication, Marketing, Social Media & Website Committee:

Develop marketing & communication strategy and tactics for conference, e.g., promotional materials, social media/newsletter/email content, connecting with local organizations relevant to GOOD to encourage marketing and information sharing with their members. Create and maintain the Conference webpages, including pages to market the conference, register, create sponsor interest, and provide detailed program information.


Budget:

Manage all conference revenue and expenses.


Membership Drive Committee:

Review conference attendees for potential GOOD members and engage with them during and after the conference to encourage attendance at a future bimonthly meeting.


Technology (Virtual) Committee:

Research technology applications that offer an engaging, interactive virtual conference experience, prepare a strategy/plan to dynamically convert from face-to-face to virtual delivery, and produce a virtual conference experience, if circumstances warrant.
