    Bi-Monthly Meetings

The GOOD Network meets the second Friday of every other month from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Our meetings rotate throughout the Greater Orlando area and are hosted at our members' places of employment or colleges/universities. 50-60 members typically attend our meetings. It is free for a first-time guest to attend to check out the group before becoming a paid member. Join us at one of our upcoming meetings for "GOOD" networking and dialogue!

    Book Club Meetings

Quarterly Book Club meetings offer another great way to stay involved with the GOOD Network while keeping up on the latest trends and growing professionally. The book club is a smaller, more informal sub-set of members that meet on a quarterly basis in the evenings to discuss a business book of choice that is relevant to the OD profession. The focus of our discussion is around how the techniques or theories discussed in the book can apply to our current practices. We typically meet on Thursday evenings from 6:30pm-8:30pm and locations vary around the Central Florida area (sometimes at a member’s home, sometimes at a restaurant).

Attendance is usually around 8-15 members, which offers a personalized and comfortable environment for discussion. Bringing a handout or summary of your thoughts about the book is encouraged as a take-away to share with other attendees.

Some of the past book club selections have included:

    • Improving Performance (Rummler & Brache)
    • True North: Discover Your Authentic Leadership (George & Sims)
    • Building Strong Brands (Aaker)
    • Leading Out Loud (Pearce)
    • Follow this Path (Gallup)
    • “Carrots” Books (Gostick & Elton)
    • Emotional Intelligence (Goleman)
    • Strategy Maps (Kaplan & Norton)

    Mentoring

Looking for an opportunity to spend time with senior-level, experienced OD professionals and gain knowledge to fuel your professional development? Don’t have quite enough time to commit to a mentor-mentee relationship? Then “mentoring roundtables” are the perfect opportunity for you. Mentoring roundtable sessions are facilitated by senior-level members of the GOOD Network and focus on their specific area of expertise. The target audience would include more junior members of the GOOD Network (first-time attendees are also welcome), students, or others looking to learn more about the specific discussion topic.

Mentoring roundtables are typically held once or twice per year directly following one of our bi-monthly meetings over a pizza lunch. Some of our previous topics have included:

    • So, You Wanna Break into OD?
    • Internal vs. External Consulting: Which One is for You?
    • Change Management focusing on “Tools for Change” HBR article
    • OD, Training, and Performance Consulting: What’s the Difference?

    Social Events

On an annual basis in the spring, GOOD Network hosts a Social/Networking event that provides a more relaxed and informal opportunity to get together with your GOOD colleagues. These are typically 2-3 hour events that are held on a Saturday and guests (including family and friends) are welcome. Examples of some of our past events have included lunch on the Rivership Romance in Sanford, a night of laughter at the SAK Comedy Lab in downtown Orlando, and lunch at Dexter’s in Winter Park along with a trip to the Orlando Museum of Art. We enjoy supporting various Central Florida businesses and attractions and encourage you to contact us with your ideas for future events.
