Implications of Gaming and Virtual Reality on OD Interventions

It’s been estimated that over 1.2 billion people play video games worldwide. It's known that gamification and virtual reality (VR) mechanics resonate with all levels of employees with about 48% of gamers being women.

Increasingly, companies are being challenged to use innovative principles and technologies such as gamification and VR to improve bottom line outcomes. Unlike previous disruptors, video games and Gear VR powered by Oculus have the potential to take OD interventions to the next level. Because of their influence on behavior change, gaming and VR should not be overlooked by OD Practitioners and business leaders alike.

In this session, you will learn:

  • Why gamification and VR can improve OD intervention outcomes.
  • How gamification and VR can be incorporated into your work through two case studies.
  • How to practically integrate gamification and VR within your internal or external OD practice.

This workshop is APPROVED for SHRM Re-certification Credits through our partner - UCF Continuing Education

Speaker Bio:

Kizzy Dominguez, Ph.D,

Inspired by her father, Kizzy M. Dominguez always knew that she wanted to be a psychologist and an entrepreneur. The simple but powerful concept, “it’s all about empowering others” was instilled in her from a young age and became the motivation behind KPC.

To pursue these dreams Kizzy received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology degree from Alfred University and next her Masters of Science in Industrial Organizational Psychology degree from the Florida Institute of Technology. Then after receiving her Doctor of Philosophy in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, she decided to combine her background and passions with her entrepreneurial spirit to found KPC in 2008.

Within a year, the company landed its first large contract and took KPC to the next level. Since then Kizzy and her Difference Makers have trained, coached and empowered leaders, middle managers, and front-line employees. She was the 2014 Enterprising Woman of the Year and recently recognized by Profiles in Diversity Journal as a Woman Worth Watching®. In April 2016, KPC was recognized by The Commonwealth Institute as a Top 50 Woman Led-Business. KPC was also a finalist for the 2015 Florida Companies to Watch, awarded the 2014 Enterprising Woman of the Year Award, and nominated for the 2014 Best Places to Work in Orlando.
